If you have been checking out my posts for a while now you probably know I’m all about simple recipes.  To be honest I really don’t like to cook.  I am constantly looking for plant-based recipes that are quick and easy but don’t sacrifice flavor.  If you have the right amount of spices or sauce you can easily make a tasty vegan recipe in no time.  These vegan buffalo tofu wraps make the perfect Sunday dinner or quick weekday lunch!

Let’s talk about tofu for a minute.  The first time I had tofu I was pretty grossed out and it looked all weird and slimy soaking in water.  Barf!  I actually didn’t try it again until years later.  The next time I made it I researched a little more on how to make it actually taste good.

The best tip I learned was to use a tofu press.  I purchased one for pretty cheap and it was a game-changer!  I really recommend trying it if you like tofu or are trying to like tofu.  It easily gets all the water out, which means your tofu will actually hold flavor and not taste like a slimy sponge. Trust me!  If you make tofu the right way it is amazing!

How to Make Tofu Taste Amazing

  • Drain in a tofu press to get the extra water out.  This will help the tofu hold flavor.
  • After the water is drained, slice into thin pieces or you can crumble it up.
  • If you are using spices, layout the tofu and season both sides
  • If you are using sauce marinate the tofu in a bag for an hour or more.
  • Now you can bake or pan fry the tofu.  Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 30 minutes on a non-stick pan.  If pan-frying, spray a pan with non-stick spray and fry over med-high heat for about 8 minutes each side.  I like my tofu crispy, so I cook it until it’s a little overdone.
