Easy Vegan Cinnamon Rolls

These Easy Vegan Cinnamon Rolls are so fun to make and delicious!  They are made with just a few simple ingredients.  Vegan Cinnamon Rolls make the perfect breakfast or dessert. They are soft and fluffy and topped with the best cinnamon icing. These are a great vegan substitute for our favorite Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls.

Cinnamon rolls are a staple at our house.  My kids love the Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls for breakfast.  I have always loved them too, but I try to steer clear because they aren’t vegan.  I looked up several vegan cinnamon roll recipes and most of them seemed like a lot of work.  I’m not really into needing dough, so I had to find an easier way.  Then I came across this easy vegan cinnamon roll recipe that used pizza dough!

I thought maybe the pizza dough would be a strange consistency, but it’s actually delicious!  The dough is naturally vegan, so it was really easy to tweak this recipe a bit to make it vegan.  I kept these super simple, but there are other fillings you can use as well.  I will give you some ideas below!

More Filling Options

  • Smores- Use all the same ingredients, but add vegan marshmallows to the butter mixture and melt together.  After spreading on the dough, sprinkle with crushed graham crackers and chocolate chips.  Roll up the dough and slice as usual.  You can also sprinkle some extra graham crackers and chocolate chips on top with the icing. You could leave out the cinnamon for this if you want.  I personally love cinnamon on just about anything sweet!

  • Oreo- Use all the same ingredients, but add crushed Oreos into the filling.  I also added crushed Oreos to the icing and sprinkled on top.

  • Chocolate and Peanut Butter- Use all the same ingredients, but add 2 tbs of peanut butter and 4 tbs of chocolate chips to filling before melting. You can also substitute melted chocolate and peanut butter instead of icing.

Easy Vegan Cinnamon Roll Ingredients

  • 14 oz Pizza Crust in a tube.  I used Pillsbury Classic Pizza Crust.
  • 2 Tbsp Vegan Butter
  • 3 Tbsp Pure Cane Sugar
  • 2-3 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 4 Tbsp Flour

Icing Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1-2 Tbs Milk (mix in a little at a time until desired consistency.  If you add too much, add more powdered sugar.)

Steps to Making Easy Vegan Cinnamon Rolls

Step 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Sprinkle flour onto the baking sheet, open pizza dough, and spread evenly onto the baking sheet.

Step 2. Melt the butter, sugar, and cinnamon in a microwave-safe dish for about 40 seconds.

Step 3. Spread the mixture evenly onto the rolled out dough.

Step 4. Gently roll the dough until it forms a log shape.

Step 5. Slice the dough into 2-inch pieces and place it in a round baking dish.

Step 6. Bake for 11-14 minutes or until golden brown on the top.

Step 7. Mix icing ingredients in a small bowl and set aside until cinnamon rolls are done baking.

Step 8. After the cinnamon rolls are done baking let them cool for about 5 minutes. Drizzle icing on top and enjoy!
